Envy prevents the envious from advancing in life, from reaching their own goals in life, because all the time, they focus their creative passions and imagination on their “competitor” – the object of their envy. The envious are beclouded by what their rivals are doing or what they have, thus preventing the envious from charting their own course in life. This is the death of growth, creativity and progress.
I know some may say, as I hear it said all the time, “I made the money. It is my money and I have the right to use it the way I want.” Who says it isn’t your money? Who says you don’t have the right to use it any way you want? However, remember God has blessed you so you can bless others. That is part of why you have the money. Isn’t it?
“Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26-28)
